We Almost Lost Detroit

Following on from yesterday's love for samples, Gil Scott-Heron is an icon and his work with Brian Jackson is exceptional. First discovered through my Mum who told me to sample "The Bottle" when I first started out producing, I quickly found that he was the original magician behind Kanye West's "My Way Home"... Fast forward to 2017-ish and my ex-girlfriend and I discover "Suede" by NxWorries, sampling "The Bottle". My head was blown... "We Almost Lost Detroit" has been sampled many times before, and it's beautiful (yet eery) from start to finish. The song is about the partial nuclear meltdown that took place in Detroit, at Enrico Fermi Nuclear Power Station back in the 1960's.
